Our fees are not covered by OHIP. Many insurance providers cover the costs of psychotherapy. Please check with your insurance provider about your individual coverage.
During your first appointment, we will discuss what prompted you to seek therapy at this time. This will help us understand where to focus at first. We will explain the approach and try to help you undersatnd some of the reasons you feel the way you do based on our understanding of anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship cycles and family patterns.
Importantly, we will review "informed consent" so that you understand the important elements of therapy.
This depends on many factors, including your "presenting concerns", goals, and in some cases, access to your emotions.
Usually, understanding what is happenning within yourself through psychoeducation is a source of relief. With anxiety, anger, ADHD, and family patterns this can occur in the first session.
No you do not need a diagnosis or referral to seek therapeutic help or skills coaching.
This also depends. We can provide research that gives guidelines and ranges and can work with you to design a treatment plan that works within your constraints.
Our assessments can reveal behavioural patterns, responses to anxiety, causes of depressive feelings, and relationship needs that you may not be aware of. This can move therapy forward by a few sessions by highlighting the findings as areas to discuss.
We are conveniently located across from Jane station on the Bloor subway line in Bloor West Village, near High Park in Toronto. In-person sessions are held in the Wholistic Care Center.
